What to do around Lake Norman Memorial Day Weekend

Whether you’re in town to see relatives, celebrate the holiday weekend or just want to admire the beauty of Lake Norman, here are some activities to participate in around the lake Memorial Day Weekend.

 

May 26-29 from 10:00am – 7:00pmLake Norman citizens hanging out at the new man made beach.

Man-Made Beach

Ramsey Creek Park

Built just last year, this man-made beach features 46 acres of swimming area, boat launching and docks, playground, picnic spots, nature trails, fishing pier, volleyball court and dog park (we can’t forget about our furry friends can we?). Individuals and families will be able to visit daily from 10:00am – 7:00pm now through Labor Day Weekend. A free shuttle will operate from Northcross Park and Ride lot in Huntersville to Ramsey Creek Beach on weekends and holidays. The shuttle will run every 15 minutes from 9:00am-8:00pm.

Memorial Day Field of Flags

The 2017 Memorial Day Field of Flags is brought to you by the Mooresville/Lake Norman Exchange Club. This is an extremely moving and patriotic event that touches so many lives. This event also raises money for a very worthy cause – child abuse prevention.

From 10:00-2:00pm, Learn Music Students and BanDam will be playing live music. Studio Coffee will be serving specialty coffee beverages and pastries, and D9 Brewing Company will be selling beer. Talons Summer Flight Shows

Carolina Raptor Center

Carolina Raptor Center’s high flying, gravity defying summer flight show features CRC’s trainers putting our native and exotic birds through their paces in free flight. Experience the whoosh of feathers over your head. Learn about the natural history, habitat and natural behaviors of birds of prey. Interact with birds as you never have before.  Owls, vultures, hawks and falcons are the stars in this show.
