Lake Norman Boating: The Best Way to Beat the Heat

Lake Norman water skiiing

The past few weeks of weather in Charlotte have been brutal! The temperatures have reached the high 90s with humidity levels near 70%. The heat and intense sunlight have made it difficult to spend the day outside. But, during these summer months, Westport Marina offers you and your family a cool, relaxing getaway.

In this week’s blog, we explain why a Lake Norman boating adventure is one of the best ways to beat the heat in Charlotte.

1. Water Sports

The quickest way to cool down is to be in the water. Swimming in an in-ground pool serves its purpose, but it can get old fast. Waterskiing or tubing is a thrilling way to spend an afternoon, and because you’re in the water, you won’t even notice the heat. We sell and rent tubes and other water toys you’ll need at our marina store

2. Shaded Boats

When you rent our pontoon boats, you can spend your time soaking in the rays on the spacious floor layout, but when you need a break, we have large bimini covers installed to deflect the Sun and provide a shaded area.

3. Wind in Your Hair

When you’re zipping along the water in your boat or jetski, you don’t need a breeze to help stay cool! To us, there is nothing better than feeling the wind and gentle mist rushing past you as you cruise along the lake.

Your Best Choice for Lake Norman Boating

If you don’t have a boat or equipment, that’s no problem. We rent boats for half-days and full-days, and all of our boats are fully equipped with everything you need.

That’s all there is to it. We can’t wait to be a part of your Lake Norman boating experience! Before you hit the road to visit us, remember to bring your sunscreen, polarized sunglasses and plenty of drinking water.
